Operating system is a system software.
OS acts as an intermediate in between hardware and user.
Operating system is a resource manager, it manage system resources in an unbiased fashion of both hardware and software.
It provide a platform on which other applications program are installed.
Without operating system hardware is access by user but it is very difficult and costly.
Operating system have all information or knowledge about hardware and also it provide easy to access hardware.
Primary Goal of operating system:
Make systems convenience and user-friendly .
Secondary Goal of operating system:
Increase efficiency of systems that is to say, minimum input gives maximum outputs.
